Erasmus Generation Meeting Ancona 2025; Guiding the waves of change

Join the fourth edition of the Erasmus Generation Meeting in Ancona, Italy!

The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is proud to announce the fourth edition of the Erasmus Generation Meeting (EGM), Europe’s premier gathering for students, educators, and stakeholders dedicated to international mobility and youth engagement. Next year’s EGM will be held from the 3rd to the 6th of April 2025 at the Università Politecnica delle Marche in Ancona, Italy.

As the largest student-led conference of its kind, this year’s edition of EGM will be dedicated to strengthening the role of the Erasmus Generation in local communities and higher education. With the central theme of "Empowering Youth as the Changemakers of Society", this unique event will bring together over 1000 participants from across Europe and beyond to foster dialogue, exchange ideas, and work collectively to enhance international experiences and promote equal participation.

EGM Ancona 2025 is built around two central pillars:

  • Active Participation and Youth Engagement in Local Communities: Young people are encouraged to actively participate in their local communities through initiatives led by the Erasmus Generation. It highlights how getting involved can make a difference, empowering youth to positively impact their surroundings every day.

  • Impact of Youth Work and Volunteering on Internationalisation: Youth work and volunteering play an important role in internationalisation of higher education and beyond. It explores how initiatives of the Erasmus Generation enable youth to engage on a global scale, fostering cultural exchange and meaningful intercultural dialogue.

The event will seamlessly combine an Opening Ceremony, a Flag Parade as a celebration of unity in diversity, daily plenary sessions, smaller interactive sessions, and the EGM Expo, the event's knowledge hub, where institutional and commercial partners can directly connect with participants, promoting mobility and new opportunities for our volunteers from abroad.

Over 100 dynamic sessions will address a range of issues, including youth engagement, enrichment of local communities, and intercultural dialogue through volunteering. Participants will collaborate to seek solutions, share best practices, and advocate for active participation of youth in both society and higher education, promoting the impact of volunteering on internationalisation.

The Erasmus Generation Meeting serves as a central, vibrant platform for stakeholders and volunteers to collaborate and drive positive change in the international education landscape while showcasing the commitment of the Erasmus Generation to improve learning mobility programmes around the world and foster youth engagement and skills development.
