A series of colourful elements with the main title of the conference in the center and the save the date

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming Erasmus Careers Conference, titled “From Mobility to Employment: Shaping a Competitive Europe”, which will take place on January 29 in Brussels. The event will bring together students, trainees, educational institutions, and employers to explore how international mobilities can be effectively leveraged, and ultimately improve competitiveness. The agenda of the event can be found here.

As former ECB President Mario Draghi points out in his report “The Future of European Competitiveness”, there is still much untapped potential in the links between higher education and business, mainly due to a lack of awareness of the potential benefits of collaboration.

The conference will underscore the importance of the skills acquired through international experiences. By informing students and recent graduates about the advantages of mobility, it aims to empower them to effectively position themselves in the labour market.

Moreover, engaging employers is essential to highlight the unique competencies that recent graduates have acquired through international mobility. By fostering this awareness, this conference aims to encourage businesses to recognise and value the diverse skill sets that international experiences cultivate, ultimately leading to better hiring practices.

The conference will also serve as a platform for higher education institutions to deepen their understanding of the international student lifecycle. By increasing internationalisation in career guidance, the transition from education to employment can be improved.

As highlighted in the mission letter for Executive Vice-President-designate for People Skills and Preparedness, Roxana Mînzatu, building a Union of Skills also translates into strengthening the Erasmus+ program to enhance Europe's competitiveness.

In an ever-changing, fast-paced world, it is essential to encourage the acquisition of new skills through education and training to ensure that everyone has well-determined career opportunities.

This is a fantastic opportunity to network with industry leaders and fellow students. Register now to secure your spot and help shape the future of international mobility.

We look forward to seeing you in Brussels on January 29!
