The Erasmus Student Network is proud to have participated in the ASEF Young Leaders Summit 2024, held from August 10-18 in Beijing and Hangzhou, China. This prestigious event, organised by the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) in collaboration with the All-China Youth Federation (ACYF), brought together 40 young leaders from 39 countries across Asia and Europe.
As one of the biggest youth organisations, ESN is thrilled to join this dynamic group of young leaders. The theme of this year’s Summit, “Leadership in Society 5.0,” resonated deeply with our mission to foster ethical, inclusive, and sustainable leadership in an increasingly interconnected world. Throughout the week, we engaged in a variety of enriching activities, including workshops, panel discussions, and simulation games. These sessions, led by expert trainers, covered critical topics such as ethical leadership, intercultural learning, digital citizenship, and the societal implications of AI. The diverse methodologies employed ensured a comprehensive and engaging learning experience for all participants.
One of the highlights of the event was the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the local culture and build lasting connections with fellow participants.
Our two participants, Hazal Sude Satkın and Ilze Ojere, were particularly excited to share insights from our network and learn from the diverse perspectives of other young leaders. The ASEF Young Leaders Summit 2024 not only provided a platform for skill development, but also fostered a network of future leaders committed to making a positive impact in their communities.
We look forward to seeing the innovative projects and initiatives that will emerge from this enriching experience and to continuing our collaboration with ASEF and other international partners to advance the cause of international education and leadership.
