Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is a non-for-profit international student organisation. Our mission is to represent international students, thus provide opportunities for cultural understanding and self-development under the principle of Students Helping Students.

We are 12.000 members from 299 local sections in 32 countries working on a volunteer base in Higher Education Institutions. We are offering services to 150.000 students.

  • Send a Postcard - Send a Chance with ESN Postcard Campaign

    Now that the first phase – Postcard Design Competition – of the Postcard CampaignPostcard Campaign is finished ESN needs your help to keep it going.
    For phase two – Send a Postcard – you can help fight racism and xenophobia by writing a short story about how your experience abroad opened your eyes to understand, accept and respect people from different backgrounds.

    • Theme: On the postcard, write all your thoughts when you hear “Send your experience abroad”.
    • Language: The text has to be in English.
    • Length: Your story should not exceed 50 words.
    • Dates: Send your postcard in June / July / August / September
    • Contact: Include your name and e-mail address (all your data is kept confidentially and will only be published with your consent)

    A jury will pre-select the best stories and publish them for online voting to determine the final 20 winners for Phase 3, A Guide to Solving Racism.

Satellite 3.0 released!
ESN and Youth Agora are proud to announce the immediate availability of ESN Satellite 3, the new edition of the free website template for ESN sections. ESN Satellite is an attractive and user-friendly template for an ESN section website; it uses the official ESN Corporate Identity, it is specifically tailored to the needs of an ESN section and it can be administered by non-technical people. Call for participants for a seminar: Bridging the Gap

ESN, in collaboration with EEE-YFU, EFIL, SCI and ICYE, organises a seminar Bridging the Gap: the road to recognising long term youth exchanges. The seminar takes place from 13 to 21 September in Mollina, Spain.

The aim is to exchange experience and understanding between the organisations about the various kinds of long term youth exchanges and to see how to work together towards its better recognition.

Happy Birthday, ESN! Activities
Give20
During the whole year 2009, ESN members all around Europe unite their efforts to raise money for UNICEF and its projects in Bhutan, with a special focus on the Give20 week in October 2009. Learn more.


Annual General Meeting (AGM 2009)
AGM in Utrecht taking place in March 2009 gathers as a decision-making body of ESN to discuss future strategy, main project and elect members of the International Board. Learn more


Birthday Book
The Birthday Book will eventually include wishes to ESN from all the sections. By 16 October 2008, all the ESN sections will have sent their self-made page with wishes for the network's 20th birthday. The Birthday Book is our heritage for next generations of ESNers!


Postcard Campaign
The main idea of the Postcard campaign is to raise awareness towards intercultural issues in order to reduce xenophobia and racism under the slogan Send a postcard - send a chance. Take part in the campaign and design the ESN postcard, write your story and have it published in the Guide. More information here.
