The Autumn General Assembly of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN), held from November 16th to the 19th, 2023, in the heart of Ankara, marked a historic moment as the organisation expanded its global reach and solidified plans for the upcoming year.
A pivotal highlight of the assembly was the unanimous decision to welcome Jordan as the 45th country to join ESN, with ESN Irbid spearheading efforts in the region. The addition of Jordan further underscores ESN's commitment to fostering cross-cultural connections and providing support to students in diverse corners of the world.
In another groundbreaking development, the assembly proudly approved Iceland as a candidate section for ESN membership. This momentous step not only adds a new dimension to the ESN family but also signifies the continuous growth and inclusivity of the organisation. Representatives from Iceland, eager to contribute to the international student community, were met with warm enthusiasm from existing members.
Equally significant was the approval of the budget for the year 2024, which reflects the organisation's dedication to creating meaningful experiences for students participating in the Erasmus+ and other mobility programmes and furthering its mission of promoting cultural exchange and understanding.
