Survey 2008: Project DescriptionESNSurvey 2008: Exchanging Cultures
Fill in the ESNSurvey 2008 here!
Every year, ESN launches a survey that explores the most important issues concerning academic and non-academic mobility. It is one of the biggest and most successful projects of ESN International - last year more than 8,000 students responded to the online survey. Through the gathered opinions of the students, ESN gets a better insight in what students experience and this allows us to represent better the students' real needs. The 2008 edition of the ESNSurvey is launched. The main topic of this year is “Exchanging Cultures”. As one of the core objectives of any exchange is to discover foreign cultures, integrate with local people and try to adapt to new cultural conditions, we think it is interesting to see if these processes really take place during a study period in a foreign country. Furthermore, we analyze the impacts of an experience abroad on the personal abilities to overcome cultural differences and to benefit from the new cultural environment. The survey deals with topics such as cultural shock and its social implications, integration with local culture and people, intercultural skills learned etc. To enter the on-line ESNSurvey 2008, click here! Please answer 4 more questions from our partner UNICA (Network of Universities from the Capitals of Europe) and help support the After Student Mobility phase with ICT, click here! For universities If you want to join this ESN project, the only thing to do is to forward our e-mail (available upon request at secretariat@esn.org) to your present exchange students and, if possible, to publish information about the ESNSurvey on your university website. All the students who fully complete the questionnaire will have a chance to participate in a draw out of which 5 students will be chosen to be later mentioned in the Survey report with their name and picture as supporters of the survey. After closure of the ESNSurvey in September, we can provide each university – upon request – the survey results coming exclusively from their students. In this way the survey can give a different point of view of the work of the university towards their students and positive results can eventually be used to show to an interested third party. For National Agencies and educational associations If your organisation or National Agency wants to become a supporter of the ESNSurvey project, we would kindly ask you to:
To thank you for the support, we will publish your logo on the ESN website in the section of ESNSurvey Partners as well as mention your organisation in the printed booklet with the report on the ESNSurvey results. Additionally, you will receive a free copy of the printed booklet. |
