ESN Card

What is the ESNCard?

ESN Card was created with the principle idea to be used as a membership card, but depending on your section / country it may also be used to offer discounts.

According  to principle of creation,  it was always  issued as valid  for 12 months card, invalid without photo and correct personal data, never to be used by somebody else than the CARD HOLDER.

What fields does ESN Card contain?

It consists of several fields, all must be filled while issuing:

• PHOTO FIELD (for a photograph of the card holder, not an avatar or whatever type of graphic; 
  with an increased photo size in latest production to 2.9 cm x 3.5 cm )
• NAME (for name and surname of the card holder, not a nickname or any random words)
• DATE OF BIRTH (real one, no cheating with age)
• ESN SECTION (of the card holder or the one issues the card, not a random invention)
• COUNTRY (name of country the card holder comes from)
• VALID UNTIL (ESN Card is always valid for 12 months, hence if today is 01/03/2009 you have to 
  put on the card 01/03/2010)
• CARD NUMBER (each card has a unique number put by production company)
• BAR CODE ** (depending on this year production it may be possible to include bar codes. Please ask for details while ordering)

Back side of  ESN Car: your sponsorship opportunity!

The purpose of the back side of the card is to provide ESN Sections/Countries with a possibility to make local/national agreements with partners and sponsors.

Also the back side can be used for putting a national logo of ESN from a particular country or section logo.

Concerning the Corporate Identity of ESN, especially its graphical matters there are rules of the back side of the card that cannot be changed:

• if you want ESN Cards with partner/sponsor logo, you have order at LEAST 1000 cards,
• you cannot change the design of ESN Cards, which means no changes of FRONT and BACK side of the card other than allowed sponsor/partner logos,
• there is no possibility to cover the back side COMPLETELY with custom logos
• you have to provide logo files in PROPER format, most preferably in VECTOR graphical format (CURVES are preserving quality no matter what dimensions). RASTER graphics are also accepted if they are in HIGH RESOLUTION (width at least 1280px) with WHITE or TRANSPARENT background.
• recommended VECTOR graphics file extensions:
  • EPS (Encapsulated PostScript)
  • AI (Adobe Illustrator version up to CS3)
  • CDR (Corel Draw version up to X3)
  accepted Raster graphics file extensions:
  • PNG (high quality, transparent/white background)
  • TIFF (high quality, transparent/white background)
  • JPEG (high quality, white background)

Who can become an owner of  ESN Card ?

You can become an owner, if:

• You have been an exchange student (e.g. Erasmus or any other exchange programme)
• You are currently on exchange
• You are an active member of an ESN section.

How can you get the ESNCard?

The ESNCard can be obtained exclusively from your ESN local section.
